A good week with several standout performances in league and rivalry games. It says something that the POTWs this week were nominated by opposing coaches whose teams got beaten by the teams featuring the players named below. Each of them gets an official WMHSH Blog t-shirt. Drew O'Brien, East Grand Rapids - The senior forward (shown above) had an enormous point weekend, highlighted by a hat trick and an assist in a 5-2 upset against conference OK-1 leader Grandville. The following night against Kenowa Hill, O'Brien had 2 goals and 3 assists in the Pioneers 6-4 win.
Quinn Edwards, GRCC - The senior netminder turned away 56 of 58 shots in a pair of wins over OK-1 conference rivals Mona Shores and Rockford. After pitching a shutout at Mona, Edwards closed out the Cougars' 3-2 thriller over Rockford with a flawless third period, turning away all 12 shots he faced.
Christian Potter, Christian High School - The senior forward was huge in two wins by his namesake school. Potter was involved in 5 out of the 6 goals in Christian High's 6-5 comeback over West Catholic, and had two goals and an assist in the Eagle's 5-0 victory over OK-3 rival Lowell Caledonia.
Bryan Reitter, Forest Hills N/E - The junior forward had five goals in a pair of wins last week, including the tying goal against Rockford with 54 seconds remaining in regulation. On Saturday, against crosstown rival, Forest Hills Central, Reitter had a hat trick.
